Maxwell Davenport Taylor (August 26, 1901 – April 19, 1987) was a senior United States Army officer and diplomat of the mid-20th century.[1] He served with distinction in World War II, most notably as commander of the 101st Airborne Division, nicknamed "The Screaming Eagles." Morton Shalowitz (1923- ) grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Ordained as a Rabbi in 1949, he served congregations in North Dakota, Montana, Tennessee, Florida, and the Temple Beth Israel in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Including two years of active service during the Korean War, Shalowitz spent thirty years in the US Army Reserve, retiring at the rank of Colonel in 1983. He currently resides in Fond du Lac, Wis.
